Creating custom shapes in Keynote

In this digitip, learn how to create custom shapes in Keynote and add them to your own shapes library. This step-by-step guide shows you how to create your own custom shapes, save them to your shapes library and then use them in a presentation. Once you have done this in Keynote you can do the same in both Pages and Numbers.

This example was inspired by work of P6 learners at Niddrie Mill Primary School as they used Keynote to explore how the Earth was created.

You’ll also pick up useful iPad skills, including:
✅ Masking images with shapes
✅ Breaking apart complex shapes in Keynote

This is a great digital skill to learn as you can make any shape or design you want and add it to a project.

Recorded on iOS 18 but available on previous iOS versions
