Introduction to Digital Literacy (Primary)

Digital Literacy is a key part of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, encouraging learners to enhance their knowledge of and skills using digital technologies in a safe and purposeful way. Explore how to embed digital literacy skills, critical thinking, and CRIS (Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety) into your classroom. This is a repeat of the session run in June 2024.

Who is this for?

  • This session is aimed at primary teachers looking to develop an understanding of the concept of digital literacy through practical examples relevant to Early Years, First Level, and Second Level.

Session Overview

  • Exploring the digital literacy E&Os and evaluating how we are already using them. 
  • Looking at examples of digital literacy skills through a selection of apps.  
  • Encouraging critical thinking through responsible search and Microsoft Search Coach.  
  • Examples of how to embed CRIS into your timetable.
