Overview

Edinburgh Learns Digital promotes the Edinburgh Learns for Life vision by aiming to embed digital technologies in teaching, learning and assessment to improve outcomes for all learners.

Devices have been provided to all (P6 – S6) learners and teachers ensuring equity of access to the transformative opportunities of digital learning. Ubiquitous access to digital tools allows teachers to develop new pedagogical approaches and provides learners with new ways to access content and demonstrate their learning.

Digital technologies allow learners and teachers to communicate and collaborate within and beyond class and school. Teachers can blend the best of live, face to face and remote, asynchronous approaches, both in terms of learning and teaching and when participating in professional learning or engaging with city, regional or national communities.

By making use of a digital device’s wide range of apps and accessibility features, teachers will be able to differentiate learning more effectively and learners can take greater ownership of their learning.
