24 online courses available for use by CEC staff. These courses comprise of several short videos designed to independently support teachers in the effective use of iPads for learning and teaching. They can be accessed by CEC staff in My Learning Hub using the following links (CEC login required):

For CEC staff having difficulty accessing MyLearning Hub, these courses can also be viewed on ClickView, using your normal staff username and password.

Apple Education Community

Apple Education Community is “a professional learning hub designed for educators who use Apple technology. Find helpful resources for any skill level — from quick tutorials to inspirational ideas. And grow in this collaborative space as you connect with peers and experts for advice, shared stories and more.”

Highlights include iPad Foundations, Everyone Can Create, Everyone Can Code, Apple Teacher and the Apple Education Community Forum.

Apple Books for Everyone Can Create and Everyone Can Code can be downloaded by City of Edinburgh Council teachers onto your Empowered Learning iPad HERE.

Microsoft Educator Center

Microsoft Educator Center contains a wide range of training and support videos on all aspects of Microsoft 365, includes guides on effective remote learning and digital pedagogies.

There is a comprehensive range of modules lasting around 1 hour or longer learning paths which bring together several courses under specific themes. You can also can also look at all support provided for a particular product, like Teams or OneNote, or participate in various Microsoft Educator programs.

Edinburgh teachers can log in with your normal Microsoft 365 login details to track your progress and achievements as you complete courses.

ClickView

ClickView is the world’s leading video content resource for schools. It contains thousands of curriculum-aligned videos with supporting resources, access to all free to air TV, and the ability to store and share all your own video content.

ClickView Training Channel is an extensive collection of short video tutorials ranging from basic skills to how to create interactive videos with embedded questions for formative assessment. 

All Edinburgh teachers and learners have access to ClickView and can sign in using your normal network username and password.

Digilearn.scot

Digilearn.scot “is a national resource created by Education Scotland that “aims to provide support to educators to enhance their learning and teaching, their digital literacy skills and the use of digital across the curriculum”.

Highlights include resources to support Digital Literacy, Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety, and a wide range of Professional Learning Courses and webinars, free to all Scottish educators.
